1)
How much space will a tennis court require?
Generally, a tennis court uses a 120' by 60' footprint (7200 square feet in area); however, we have constructed courts on as little as a 102' by 52' footprint.
2) How do I decide between the fast-dry surface and an asphalt surface?
Fast-dry courts have a softer surface, which results in less impact, less fatigue, and slower play. Fast-dry court surfaces do not radiate as much heat as asphalt. Fast-dry is presently the preferred surface at country clubs.
Asphalt courts can support other activities such as basketball and roller hockey. The surface requires little maintenance, and allows for an extended playing season affected only by the weather.
3) What maintenance will be necessary on my court?
Fast dry courts require annual reconditioning, which we schedule with our clients every spring, watering daily (Oval installs an automatic sprinkler system as part of the installation process) and power rolling after rainy weather.
Asphalt courts, on the other hand, require only occasional power washing.
